yeah! snow!

This picture below is the weak-sauce snow we received last week.
yeah-pretty pathetic.

Well, after a most disappointing day of NO snow yesterday, we woke up to a winter wonderland this morning!! I cheered for joy as I love, love the snow!! So do the dogs and Eli!

Steve keeping Eli company.

Josh & Logan watching the kids play.

Eli's 1st snowball!

The neighborhood kids playing and sledding in the snow.

We're loving it!! So far there's about 4" and it's still snowing on and off. Justin had to go to work, but went late. We got to enjoy it for a little with him :)
Eli & I might take a walk down to the town center for some hot cocoa at Starbucks!! fun, fun!! hope you're enjoying your snow too!!

Some fun pics

I've been real bad at posting lately! I wanted to share some random pics of Eli:

Here's Eli on his 1st pony ride!

Eli head-butting the pony

just crawlin' around on the ground!

helping himself to fishies and watching football with daddy :)

Our trip to the pumpkin patch! Eli had it made riding in that wagon.

Eli's 1st 'Hay Ride'
He's not walking yet, but he loves pushing the dining room chairs around and walking behind them :) he'll be loose in NO time! but I'm ok with him taking his time.

getting a bit better

Well, Eli and I just experienced his first ear infection...it was not fun, to say the least. Last week, we went to the Dr.'s office THREE TIMES. A bit ridiculous, but we finally got the go ahead to give him some antibiotics. Not that I'm all for drugging up my child, but I absolutely KNEW there was something more than just a cold there, poor guy :)

We also had his one year check up! He's only in the 10th percentile right now!! 20# 10 oz. 28 3/4" skinny little dude! I swear I'm feeding him! The Dr. isn't concerned though. She thinks it might have to do with being sick for 5 weeks and having an ear infection on top of it.

Now that he's been on meds for six days, there's a drastic change in his personality, thank the LORD! I was beginning to think it was a new phase for him to get really ticked when he could have what he wanted and to just start whining out of no where. I'm glad it's not, the medicine has confirmed it!

All in all, Eli is doing better and now so is mommy and daddy :)

Birthday Party

We celebrated Eli's 1st birthday this weekend with family-just a small affair :)

Eli LOVED his cupcake

He had to pull the cupcake away every now and then to take a breath :)

'Here's how you do it Eli!'

He did NOT know what to do with all the attention! He was going a little cuckoo!

Eli digging in!
Playing with his new toys!
Grandma in her party hat!!

Here's a yummy cup cake I made-it's carrot cake with cream cheese frosting...yummy! got it from a Cooking Light magazine!

Happy Birthday Little sweets!! we love you more than words can say.

days at the park

We went for a walk last week at St. Edward's park. Eli loves the outdoors! He points at the birds in the trees and the flowers and plants :)

Monday I went to discovery park with Eli. It was fun, though I was a mean mommy and went during his nap time.

He loved it just the same! His eyes were watering from the wind, his nose running with snot and his drooling mouth made for a sad little picture. But he was still smiling and playing in the sand.

missing friends

This is Cora. She would do exactly this whenever Eli and I came to visit. She would just look up and stare at me. It really just tickled me. Then, eventually, she would pull herself up into my lap. Ugh! melt?! yeah...pretty quick.

Her mother and I secretly discussed our children's future together, but sadly, they left to move back home to Michigan this past week. :( We're happy for them to be closer to family, but sad to see them go.....and so stinkin' far!!

She's a cutie, there's no denying. Eli is definitely heart broken. Doesn't sleep good, won't eat his cheerios.....oh, l'amore.

Here, she's telling Eli all about it...how to pick the best block...

..no Eli, like this.
Eli focus! ok, ok. now give it all you got!

Ugh! we miss you guys already!! We're holdin' ya to that fun visit to Michigan some day!!

Hope you are settling in and happy to be back home. Miss ya!!
much love,
The Courters

Camping!

We went camping a few weeks ago with my parents and my niece. It was Eli's 1st time!! AND our first time using the bus. It went great. Eli's pack n' play fit perfectly in the bus as we slept in the tent. He loved being outdoors and playing in the sand, watching the other kids dig holes and build castles. That'll be you someday bud!
We had a blast. The doggies did too :)
